Peptides are polymers composed of amino acids. They are linear and unbranched, and the bond between two amino acids in them is termed as peptide bond. In a peptide bond, the rotation around the N-Ca and C-Ca is termed as torsion or conformational angle. The bond angle resulted due to the rotation at Ca in N-Ca bond is labeled as ϕ and that between C-Ca bond is labeled as ψ.
