Introduction: Genetically modified organisms are produced with the help of recombinant DNA technology. In recombinant DNA technology, DNA consists of genes or parts of genes from two or more organisms, usually of different species. Organisms that contain recombinant DNA or modified DNA derived from other species through genetic engineering are called transgenic or genetically modified organisms (GMOs).
