Explanation of Solution
As per given information, the control in this experiment is not the same for all swimmers. Therefore, the meaning of the “their old swim suit” is not known. There should be comparison of new suit and current suit design. The randomization procedure should apply so that bias will be reduce. There may be a systematic difference from one swim to the next. There is possibility that swimmers may be tired after the first swim or more warmed up and swimmer can identify which suit, they have. This will produce bias in the performance.
