Explanation of Solution

Introduction:

Reverberations are a type of sound and are not made up of a distinct set of reflections. It comes from everywhere at the same time. Reverberation occurs when a person sings, talks, or plays an instrument in a hall with sound-reflective or absorptive surfaces.

The concert halls generally have soft features and fabric on the walls that absorbs the sound and hence can give a balanced amount of reverberation. The walls are particularly designed for acoustic music. Gyms are generally built with multi space system and less absorptive material. Because of large space and the typical non absorptive material used in the gym space, gyms can become very reverberant. However considering the activities which take place in gym choosing absorptive material is critical owing to durability of the material

Conclusion:

Thus, the differences between a gym and a concert hall that might affect the amount of reverberation in each are explained.
