Introduction:
Most of the acoustic musical instruments have resonators in the form of a hollow cavity filled with air. The purpose of a resonator is to amplify the sound naturally by oscillation of the sound at resonant frequencies.
An electric guitar requires external amplification and does not have any hollow part in it for increasing the resonance of the sound produced. In electric guitars, the vibrations of strings are converted into electric signals which are reproduced as sound by loudspeakers.
