Covalent bonds.

Explanation of Solution

When bonds are formed by sharing of electrons, no free electron is available. For the conductivity of any substance, free electrons should be available. The sharing of electrons leads to the formation of covalent bonds. Covalent bonds have no free electrons to show the conductivity i.e. non-polar in nature. According to ‘LIKE DISSOLVES LIKE’ concept, a non-polar covalent compound dissolves in non-polar solvents. Water is a polar solvent so a covalent bond is present in the given substance that will not dissolve in water and does not conduct electricity due to no free electron.
