Summary Introduction

To review:

1. The movements allowed at ankle joints.

2. The definition of reduction of a joint.

3. The need for repairing the ligaments surgically.

4. The minimization of the recovery time by using the arthroscopic surgery.

Introduction:

Ankle joint is a hinge-like synovial joint. It connects the inferior ends of tibia and fibula with the talus bone of a foot. It is reinforced by the thick medial and lateral ligaments. Tibiofibular ligaments join the tibia and fibula together and this results in the formation of a bracket shaped socket.
