Concept introduction:
Electrostatic potential maps show the three-dimensional charge distributions of molecules. These maps also provide information about size and the shape of the molecule. Electrostatic potential data are interpreted using a color spectrum where red as the lowest electrostatic potential energy values (most negative values) and blue as the highest (most positive values. In between values variate from red to blue via yellow, green, and light blue colors.
