DNA is made up of 3 substances which are a phosphate molecule, a five carbon sugar called deoxyribose, and two types of nitrogenous bases that are purine (adenine and guanine) and pyrimidine (thymine and cytosine). Guanine, adenine, cytosine and thymine, are the nitrogenous bases and are represented by the letters G, A, C, and T respectively.
