A lawsuit was filed few years ago on Company MD’s drive through store when a customer spilled a hot cup of coffee on herself. She claimed that the coffee was too hot to be consumed inside a car.

The ethical issue here is not exactly clear compared to any other case. Customers expect their coffee to be hot. Different customers will prefer different heat levels. It is not possible for the company to prepare coffee at different heats for different customers.
They can maintain a standard heat level while developing the coffee. The heat level will be in the middle range accepted by all the customers. The incident might have also been happened due to the inappropriate handling by the customer. There is also the possibility that the coffee was too hot than the standard industry levels.
The company must recognize the danger of hot coffee. But, a good quality coffee is developed with a very hot water. The quality is usually measured in the eyes of the customer. The manufacturing and product-based quality standards will be conforming to the company.
