Chapter 47, Problem 1TYK
Summary Introduction

Introduction: The process by which the male germ cells fuses with the female germ cells is termed as fertilization. The female germ cells are known as eggs, while the male germ cells are called sperms. The female sea urchins release their eggs in water. Similarly, the male sea urchin also release the sperms in the water. The fertilization that takes place in the external environment and not inside the female body is called external fertilization.
