The role of polysaccharides, like glycogen and starch, play in storage of energy.
Introduction:
Polysaccharides are formed by condensation of sugar molecules. Water molecule is removed during a condensation reaction. Important polysaccharides include glycogen and the starch. Glycogen stores energy in muscular tissue of animals and plants store energy in the form of starch. The glucose molecules get condensed to form starch and glycogen.
