Chapter 3, Problem 50P
Sensors are used to monitor the pressure and the temperature of a chemical solution stored in a vat. The circuitry for each sensor produces a HIGH voltage when a specified maximum value is exceeded. An alarm requiring a LOW voltage input must be activated when either the pressure or the temperature is excessive. Design a circuit for this application

Design Problem
A motor car manufacturing company has manufactured a motor car
protecting circuit to warn if there is a movement in the car when the engine is
not on or when there is damage to a shutter. This has three
sensors to detect whether the engine is on and another sensor to detect
whether there is a damage to a shutter. Another sensor is there to detect
whether the car is moving.
This circuit is designed with three basic circuits. One of these is a NOT gate
and the other two gates should be included in the empty boxes. What are the
logic gates suitable for these?
Draw the circuit.

- A taco generator is use as a sensor to detect the speed of a rotating motor. The o/p of the tacho is between Ov and 5v where the midrange (2.5v) is equivalent to that the motor is standstill. When motor accelerates CW toward full speed, the tacho o/p will vary from 2.5v to 5v and when the input of tacho varies from 2.5v down to Ov means the motor is accelerating towards cCW.
