Chapter 22.3, Problem 16BYGO
Summary Introduction
Introduction:
Respiration is a primary process where the cells in the body receive oxygen and the carbon dioxide produced by the cells are eliminated. A pulmonary lobule is a smallest unit of the lung and collectively has alveolar ducts, alveolar sacs, and alveoli. An alveolus is a thin sac where the exchange of gases such as oxygen and carbon dioxide occurs. The process of filling of the alveoli with oxygen rich air is called as ventilation. Perfusion is passage of blood flow to the capillary bed in a tissue.
