Concept introduction: PYY_3-36 and PYY_1-36 are the two major forms of peptide YY. In the blood, gut, and other elements of the body, PYY acts to reduce the appetite. It is administered intravenously into the bloodstream. The most common form of circulating PYY immunoreactivity is PYY_3-36.
