Summary Introduction

Introduction:

PID, short for Pelvic Inflammatory Disease, is a condition that occurs in women, and is caused by the “genus Neisseria”. It occurs when the Neisseria bacteria, Gonococci, attaches to the cervix of the uterus and infects it deeply to the fallopian tubes, causing its “inflammation, abdominal pain, and fever”. The damage done to the tubes can lead to sterility or abnormal pregnancy.
