Summary Introduction

To determine:

The reason for an increased number of tularemia cases in summer and late spring, as compared to January.

Concept introduction:

Tularemia is caused by the aerobic Gram negative bacterium Francisella tularensis, belonging to the class Gamma protobacteria. This disease is mainly caused by the bite of carrier animals or fleas, or even by consuming meat of an infected animal. Due to its extremely small size, it can also enter the skin of an individual without any breaks on it. It is symptomatic of vomiting, fever, sore throat, and chills.
