Introduction: Joseph Priestley was a British scientist. He performed the mint and mouse experiment to answer his question about why things burned and why a mouse loses consciousness in a closed jar. In this experiment, he placed a lit candle, a mint plant and a mouse in a sealed jar. His observations based on the experiment were of great significance.
