Case summary:
The couple Person P and Person PS started City W physician practice in 2000 in City W. It has been started to provide primary care services to the community. More patients and more clinics popped up when City W had a burst of growth and development. The clinic that serves faster receives more patients. The revenues of physician practice center reduced in 2015 due to competition. They started losing their patients to City W FastTrack physician practice.
Thus, it is necessary to re-analyze the strategy, as old strategy would not work anymore. Person P recently read an article regarding implementing lean approach in physician practice to increase revenues and retain the patients. The couple met Person D regarding the lean implementation and Person D decided to observe the operations in the clinic.
