Concept explainers
Fill in the blanks: Newton’s first law is often called the law of ____; Newton’s second law highlights the concepts of force, mass, and _____; law is the law of and; Newton’s third ______ and ________.
To Fill: In the blanks with the correct words.
Explanation of Solution
Introduction:
Newton gave three laws of motion which give the understanding of objects behavior in different frame of references. The behavior of objects in the presence of forces, the behavior of moving objects and the behavior of standing still objects has been explained very carefully by Newton.
Law of inertia: the law of inertia also called Newton’s first law, which states that an object in motion would be in motion or an object at rest would be in rest until an external force exerted on it.
Newton’s second law:
According to this law, an accelerated object is always experiencing some force which is equal to the product of mass and acceleration.
Newton’ third law:
According to this law for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.
Conclusion:
Therefore, the answers are:
- Inertia.
- Acceleration.
- Action.
- Reaction.
