The sensory receptor is the structure that responds to the physical stimuli. These stimuli can be internal or external, such as temperature. These receptors collect the information and transmit it to the brain through the nerve impulse where brain interprets the information. The cutaneous sensory receptors refer to the sensory receptors that are located in the skin.
