Question
Chapter 5, Problem 6RQ
Summary Introduction
To review:
The process through which the cells protect themselves from osmotic stress.
Introduction:
Cell is the smallest unit of life and it results in the formation of simple to complex organisms. The cell is covered by a cell membrane that separates the intracellular region with the extracellular region. Osmotic stress is a condition that results in a rapid change of water movement across the cell membrane while osmosis is a process where movement of the water molecules occur across a semi-permeable membrane from high concentration to low concentration.
