Thermoregulation is a process of maintaining the internal body temperature in spite of varying temperature in the surrounding. It is considered as a state of equilibrium. The optimum temperature of a healthy person lies between 98 and 100° Fahrenheit. It is controlled by the hypothalamus of the brain. It sends signals to various organ systems in the body.
