Normal balance:
When an account shows balance on the left side of the account, it has a normal debit balance. Similarly, when an account shows balance on the right side of the account, it has a normal credit balance. Usually, all asset accounts have normal debit balance and all the liabilities accounts have normal credit balance.

Income statement:
An income statement is one of the financial statements which shows the revenues, and expenses of the company. The income statement is prepared to ascertain the net income of the company.
Rules of debit and credit:
“An increase in an asset account, an increase in an expense account, a decrease in liability account, and a decrease in a revenue account should be debited.
Similarly, an increase in liability account, an increase in a revenue account and a decrease in an asset account, a decrease in an expenses account should be credited”.
To identify: The normal balance of each account is a debit or credit.

To identify: Where the accounts should be presented in the financial statement.
