Interpretation: The molecular formula of vitamin A using the mass percentages of its elements is to be predicted.

Concept introduction: Each element constituting a specific compound always have certain contribution to the compound’s molecular mass. The contribution depends on its atom count and also on its atomic mass. The element with higher atoms as well as atomic mass contributes most to the molecular mass. Certain element’s mass in a compound is estimating by subtracting the mass of all other elements from the molecular mass.
