Introduction: The set and number of chromosomes in a cell are described by ploidy. Cells that contain an incomplete set of chromosomes are known to be haploid and those which have a complete set of chromosomes are diploid. Cells that contain a single nucleus are called monokaryotic, whereas the one containing two nuclei is called dikaryotic.
