Concept explainers
To determine:
The central vacuole, chloroplast, and cell wall in plant cell.
Introduction:
A cell is the structural, functional, and biological unit of all living organisms. It is smallest unit for life. A cell can be prokaryotic or eukaryotic. Eukaryotic cells contain membrane bound cell organelles that help in functioning of cellular machinery by carrying out biochemical reactions.
Explanation of Solution
Plant cells act as building blocks for plants. These cells contain chloroplast, where photosynthesis occurs. It is an important process in plants for making food, by using sunlight, water, and carbon dioxide.
Structure of plant cell is as follows:
Cell wall − It is composed of cellulose and helps in providing structure and support to plant.
Central vacuole − It helps to store important nutrients and eliminate waste products from the cell.
Chloroplast − It contains green pigment, chlorophyll that helps in the process of photosynthesis. By this process, plants can make their own food.
