Chapter 2, Problem 9UC
Summary Introduction
To write:
The manner in which oxidative enzymes found in peroxisome and mitochondria are different.
Introduction:
Oxidative enzymes are found in both peroxisome and mitochondria. They are present in peroxisome to form hydrogen peroxide and carry out the oxidative reaction. The intercellular concentration of oxygen in peroxisome is very low, the oxidative reaction in peroxisomes is performed without producing energy and later with the help of oxidative enzyme present in mitochondria oxidative phosphorylation is formed that produces ATP as energy.
