Chapter 2, Problem 8TYK
Summary Introduction
Introduction: The basic unit of matter that has the properties of a chemical element is called as an atom. An atom is made up of subatomic particles (neutrons, protons, and electrons). The substance that is made from one type of atom is called as an element. Every element has a unique chemical symbol, atomic number, and atomic mass. Most common elements present in living organisms are carbon, oxygen, hydrogen, nitrogen, sulfur, and phosphorus.
