Introduction:
Pressure gradient: It is a physical quantity of fluids that describe the rate of pressure. It occurs when there is different pressure on the surface
Pressure of water increases with depth, therefore pressure on the lower surface of an object is greater than the pressure on upper surface. It means upward force acting on lower surface of object is greater than the downward force acting on the upper surface of object. Hence, a net force acts in upward direction which is known as buoyant force. If liquid pressure is same at all depths on submerged liquid then pressure gradient on the object will be zero. It means there will be no upward and downward force acting on an object and buoyant force will be zero.
