Concept explainers
To compare:
The concept of typological species concept and phylogenetic species concept.
Introduction:
Different historians and scientists have divided species on the basis of their different characteristics. Based on their observation they have drafted different concepts that define existence of a species and these concepts are known as species concepts.
Explanation of Solution
The typological species concept suggests that there are a finite number of verities among living beings and these types do not exhibit any relationship with one another, and these varieties are termed as species. It has a great impact of morphological similarities.
The phylogenetic species concept is based on the evolutionary relationship among different organism. It suggests that all the organisms are derived from common ancestors. It relies on the genetic similarity of the organism.
