Concept introduction:
ABO blood grouping creates “Type II hypersensitive reaction” during transfusion. The antibodies produced by immune system bind to the antigens present on the patient's own cell surfaces. These cells are identified by macrophages and dendritic cells, which activates B cells that produce antibody against the antigen.
