Introduction: Recombination frequency is a number that describes the proportion of recombinant offspring that is produced in a genetic cross between two individuals. Centimorgan is the unit of recombination frequency. The recombination frequency will be 50% if the genes are located on different chromosomes and are very far from each other. Linked genes have less than 50% frequency because they are very close and cannot assort independently.
