Interpretation Introduction

Interpretation- To compare the partial pressure of oxygen gas in Death Valley to sea level.

Introduction-

The pressure is directly related to depth:

  $p=h\rho g$

Where, p = pressure, h = depth, $\rho$ = density of liquid, g = gravitational acceleration

Explanation of Solution

From the formula, pressure is directly proportional to depth. As the depth increases, the pressure also increases.

Death Valley is present below sea level. Hence, the depth is higher for Death Valley making the partial pressure of oxygen gas higher than the sea level.
