Veins are small tube like vessels, which that take blood to the heart and carry the impure or deoxygenated blood from the body tissues apart from the pulmonary vein that carries the oxygenated form of blood from the lungs back to the heart. Veins have three layers similar to that of arteries, except the outer two layers, which are much thinner. Their lumen is also wider than that of arteries.
