Formula used:

Centripetal force is given by:

Calculation:

Total distance cover by ball to complete one revolution of circle is:

  d=2πr=2×3.14×1.4=8.792 m

Now, velocity is given by,

  v=dt

Here, d is distance t is time.

Therefore, velocity v is:

  v=8.7921.09=8.07 m/s

Tension in the string will be equal to centripetal force acting on the ball.

Therefore, tension in the string is:

  T=mv2r=0.016×8.0721.4=0.744 N

Conclusion:

So, the tension in string is 0.744 N.
