Concept explainers
Interpretation :
The reason for naming for compounds to be necessary should be explained.
Concept Introduction :
When the different combinations of similar elements react to form more than one compound, the new compounds are formed with a new ratio. In chemistry, there are more than a thousand compounds are present. So, their nomenclature is very important to classify them.
Answer to Problem 1RQ
The first importance of nomenclature is that it makes easy to differentiate between inorganic compounds and organic compounds.
Explanation of Solution
Every single compound has their name which shows the composition (or its properties) of that compound. It is impossible to differentiate number of compounds if there is no specific name is assigned. So, the naming of compounds is necessary.
The application of nomenclature in chemistry is to identify the type of different compounds including their ratio. Also, compounds will be easy to remember if name is assigned to them.
