Formula used:

The expression for average of sample subset is given as,x¯=x1+x2+x3+x44

Here, x1 , x2 , x3 and x4 are the variables of subset.

The expression forrange of sample subset is given as,R=xmaxxmin

Here, xmax is the maximum value in subset and xmin is the minimum value in subset.

The expression for average of averages is given as,x¯¯=x¯1+x¯2+x¯3+x¯4+x¯5+x¯66

The expression for average of ranges is given as,R¯=R1+R2+R3+R4+R5+R66

The expression for upper control limit for the averages is given as,UCLx=x¯¯+A2R¯

Here, A2 is constant.

The expression for lower control limit for the averages is given as,LCLx=x¯¯A2R¯

The expression for upper control limit for the ranges is given as,
