A sperm cell is a reproductive cell of males and egg cells are reproductive of females. Both egg cells and sperm cells depend on each other for the reproduction of a human life that forms a zygote. Both cells undergo meiosis. The sperm cells are developed in the epididymis and the egg cells are developed in female ovaries. Fertilization of an egg by a sperm restores the chromosome number to 2n.
