Chapter 36, Problem 19TYK
Summary Introduction

Introduction: Selective removal of certain dead parts of the plants are referred to as pruning. It increases the penetration of sunlight and the movement of air into the tree. The gradual decrease in the number of certain parts of the plants by itself is known as self-pruning. The removal of some parts or entire plant in order to facilitate the growth of the neighbor plants is known as thinning. A progressive decline in the density of the growing plant's population is termed as self-thinning.
