Chapter 3.2, Problem 6ELO
Summary Introduction
To identify:
The difference between the major types of optical microscopes, their illumination sources, image appearance and uses.
Introduction:
Optical microscopes use visible light. Depending on their special adaptations in lenses, condensers, and light sources, four special types of microscopes can be described: bright-field, dark-field, phase-contrast, and interference. A fifth type is the fluorescence microscope, which uses ultraviolet radiation as the illuminating source, and a sixth, the confocal microscope, which uses a laser beam.
