Explanation of Solution

Energy of molecules can be divided into four categories:

➣ Electronic energy:

this energy is due to electrostatic forces between molecule electrons and nuclei, it involves electron electron interaction, electron nucleus interaction, nucleus nucleus interaction.

➣ Translational energy:

it is due to linear motion of molecules in any dimension.

➣ Rotational energy:

energy due to rotational motion of molecules.

➣ Vibrational energy:

this energy is due to vibration of molecules, it comes from periodic motion of atoms of molecule about their mean position keeping rotational motion and translational motion of molecules remains constant.
