Introduction: The emitter terminal is defined as a heavily doped region when compared to base terminal and collectorterminal. Also, size of emitter terminal is more than base terminal but less than collectorterminal.

Arrow at emitter terminal, $E$ , shows the direction of emitter current $I_E$ . Thecurrent into transistor must beequal to the current out of the transistor.

So, $I_B+I_C=I_E$
