  • The dark red-purple haemoglobin in which one or more oxygen is lost is called deoxyhaemoglobin.

Allosteric interaction: The protein haemoglobin is an allosteric protein. The meaning of allosteric interaction is that binding of oxygen to one of the subunits is affected by its interactions with the other subunits.
