Transportation of lipids:
- Lipids are not soluble in the plasma water.
- Lipids are carried as lipoproteins in the bloodstream.
- Cholesterol esters and triglycerides do not dissolve in water.
- Lipoproteins have neutral lipid core surrounded by a shell of apoproteins, free cholesterol and phospholipids.
