Concept Introduction:
Immune response is the defensive mechanism which depends on the recognition of specific antigens such as viruses, bacteria, toxic substances and infected cells which is either cell mediated or antibody-mediated.
Antibody mediated immune response:
- This response is under the control of B lymphocytes or B cells.
- It identifies antigen lost in body fluids.
- The antibody-mediated immune response depends on immunoglobulins or antibodies produced by the white blood cells.
- The B cell is activated when it binds with antigen.
