Explanation of Solution

Introduction:

The light rays falling on the surface of an object and sent back is termed reflection of light. The objects that are flat, smooth, and polished reflect more light. The dull surfaces reflect less light.

Explanation:

The color that appears to human eye are due to the reflection of light from a particular surface. The amount of light reflected depends on the surface of the object.  The yellow is the combination of red and green that means if the red and green illuminated on the ripe banana gives yellow.  When illuminated with yellow the color appears yellow because all the light is reflected. But when illuminated with blue all the color is absorbed and that ripe banana appears black.

Conclusion:

The blue color illuminated on the ripe banana appears black because all the light is absorbed.
