Chapter 28, Problem 10A

What is the name of the color produced by a mixture of green and blue light?

Expert Solution & Answer
Check Mark
To determine

To determine the color produced by a mixture of green and blue light.

Explanation of Solution

Introduction:

The three primary colors are red, yellow, and blue and three secondary colors are orange, green, and violet. The color wheel shows the tertiary color that can be appearing while mixing two different colors (Primary and secondary)

The additive mixing is the concept that corresponds to the mixing of different colors. The three primary colors that are in additive mixing are red, green, and blue. In the absence of any color, the result is black. In case, if all the three primary colors are mixed in equal proportions then the result is gray or white. When red and green are mixed, the result is yellow.

Similarly, when green and blue are mixed, the result is the cyan. The complete set of color mixing is shown in the color wheel.

Conclusion:

The green and blue mixed together, the result is the cyan.
