The agent of transportation that is limited to transporting small rocks.
Answer to Problem 18TE
The agent of transportation that is limited to transporting small rocks is wind.
Explanation of Solution
The major agents that are responsible for the transportation of the sediments and rock are water, ice, and wind. The drag force caused by these transportation agents is the main force by which the particles are transported from one place to another.
The ice is responsible for most transporting huge sediment load to a distant place due to a large amount of force exerted by the ice. But, the force exerted by the wind flow is comparatively lesser than that of ice and water, and this is the main reason wind is limited to transport small rocks.
Conclusion:
Therefore, the agent of transportation that is limited to transporting small rocks is wind.
