Explanation of Solution
Plates that are included are, continental crust and oceanic crust. In the stable zones the oceanic lithosphere one plate sliding beneath the continental or oceanic lithosphere of another plate due to the higher density of the oceanic lithosphere.
So, the subducted lithosphere is always oceanic while the one that overrides is the continental lithosphere or may be oceanic. Subduction zones form the deformation belt and metamorphism in the subducting crust.
